Ultimate Ceramic Protection for Your Vehicle
Long-lasting shine, superior protection, and easy maintenance.
How it works
Before the Ceramic Coating is applied there are multiple steps we have to follow to ensure your vehicle leaves looking it's best. This is the preparation and correction stage.
Step 1: Hand Wash using the 2 bucket method.
Step 2: Clay Bar and Iron Decontamination.
Step 3: 1,2 or 3 Step Paint Correction. (depending on severity of the paints condition determines how many steps will be taken)
Step 4: Alcohol wipe down of all panels to ensure no residue interferes with the Ceramic Coating.
Step 5 (final step): Apply Ceramic Coating onto the vehicles paint.

The longevity of a ceramic coating depends on several factors, including the quality of the coating, application process, maintenance, and environmental conditions. Here’s a general breakdown:
1. Entry-Level Ceramic Coatings (6 months – 1 year)
Typically spray-on or consumer-grade coatings.
Easier to apply but less durable.
Require more frequent reapplication and maintenance.
2. Mid-Tier Ceramic Coatings (1–3 years)
Professional-grade coatings or high-quality consumer coatings.
Provide better chemical resistance and hydrophobic properties.
Require proper maintenance (regular washing, avoiding harsh chemicals).
3. High-End Professional Ceramic Coatings (3–7+ years)
Multi-layer professional applications, often containing SiO₂ (silicon dioxide) and TiO₂ (titanium dioxide).
Strong resistance to UV rays, chemicals, and minor scratches.
Require proper curing and professional application for maximum durability.
Factors Affecting Longevity:
Maintenance: Regular washing with pH-neutral soaps and avoiding automatic car washes extend lifespan.
Environmental Exposure: Harsh sun, road salt, and chemicals can reduce durability.
Layering: Multiple layers provide longer protection but require professional application.
Top Coats & Boosters: Using ceramic spray sealants every few months can refresh the coating.

Yes, ceramic coatings provide some level of scratch resistance, but they are not scratch-proof. Here’s what you need to know:
Minor Scratches & Swirl Marks
Chemical & UV Damage
Water & Dirt Repellency
What It Doesn’t Protect Against:
Deep Scratches & Rock Chips
Improper Washing Damage
Key Scratches & Dents
-
Yes, you can wash your car after a ceramic coating, but you should wait at least 5–7 days after application to allow the coating to fully cure. Washing too soon can interfere with the bonding process, reducing the effectiveness and longevity of the coating.
Best Practices for Washing a Ceramic-Coated Car:
Use a pH-neutral car shampoo – Harsh detergents can degrade the coating.
Wash using the two-bucket method – Minimizes swirl marks by keeping dirt separate.
Use a microfiber wash mitt and drying towel – Avoids scratching the surface.
Dry with a blower or microfiber towel – Prevents water spots.
Some things to avoid:
Automatic Car Washes!
Brush-style washes – The spinning brushes can cause scratches and dull the coating over time.
Harsh chemicals – Many automatic washes use strong detergents that break down ceramic coatings.
Touchless washes (with strong chemicals) – While better than brush washes, they often use acidic cleaners that can shorten the coating’s lifespan.
If a touchless wash is your only option, make sure it uses a pH-balanced soap and avoid frequent visits. Regular hand washing is the best way to maintain your ceramic coating.

Some maintenance is required to maximize the longevity and performance of a ceramic coating. At Andy G’s we’ll work with you to make sure you’re well equipped with all the knowledge you’ll need to maintain your coating at your appointment, but here are some things we generally recommend.
Regular Washing (Every 1-2 Weeks)
Decontamination Wash (Every 3-6 Months)
Boosters and Maintenance Sprays (Every 2-3 Months)
A tip from the pros: Check Water Behavior
If water stops beading or sheeting properly, it might be time for a maintenance spray or deep cleaning.
